Teris Casco and Jersey City DV Workshop

In light of the Teris Casco case in Jersey City, some members of the community are sponsoring a domestic violence workshop. Please attend if you have the time.

Why attend? To increase awareness about the high incidence of violence in Filipino homes and relationships through education. To help Filipina women in abusive relationships take action and seek help.

WORKSHOP PRESENTERS AND SPONSORS:
CONNECT, New York: Bincy Jacob, Consultant and Training Coordinator for My Sisters' Place will lead the workshop. The workshop is coordinated by Krittika Ghosh, Outreach Coordinator, Communty Empowerment Program.

PAFCOM (Philippine American Friendship Committee), New Jersey: Ludy Corrales, former chair of PAFCOM; President & CEO, CLO Funding, will talk about the Filipino community's response to the brutal murder of Teris Casco. Rosalinda Medina Rupel, Overall Vice Chair, PAFCOM, will talk about why she is personally sponsoring the workshop and why she is involved.

Filipina Women's Network, San Francisco & New York: Marily Mondejar, President and Cheely Ann Sy, Chair, FWN NY Chapter Steering Committee will talk about Filipinas Against Violence, a nationwide campaign to stop violence against Filipina women and girls and V-Day's 2007 Spotlight "Women in Conflict Zones".
